In the Post-Anthropocene, automation, computation, and data processing have become governing forces, mediating how the world is sensed, understood, and acted upon. At the core of this shift is digital communication: the process that enables the circulation of data, structuring how information is transmitted, stored, and exchanged at planetary scales. As data becomes a critical resource, its movement determines systems of access, control, and power — shaping both digital and physical territories through an intricate, often invisible network of infrastructures. The strategic placement of the ‘preparation spaces’ mediate the boundary between the public and private realms, introducing a new dynamic for the visitors and the performers. The renovation of the Warehouse introduces three key interventions to transform the formerly industrial space into a dynamic performance art venue: the relocation of preparation spaces to the mezzanine level for maximum floor space, the design of prominent and iconic entryways that establish the Warehouse as a standalone venue, and the additions to the existing structures to create an infrastructural grid system for performance and staging equipment. As an extension to the MOCA performing arts center, the artist residency functions as a primary rehearsal and accomodation space for visiting artists and crew. Located on top of the Little Tokyo/Arts District metro station, this new development keeps the existing structures completely intact, while creating surgical connections that allow the private establishment to dynamically engage with the public. By bringing the rehearsal space to the forefront, the project redefines the mode of artistic and cultural exchange, displaying, reflecting, and superimposing public and private activities into a single communal phenomenon. The proposal reimagines the relationship between architecture and its residents, emphasizing the transformative potential of seemingly ordinary architectural elements — windows and thresholds. Populated cities give rise to dense neighborhoods, often shaped by an array of standardized living spaces that prioritize efficiency over individuality. These systemized environments frequently imposed systemized lives, where the erasure of spatial interstices&nbsp;— the subtle gaps that foster connections to self, nature, and community&nbsp;— undermines the richness of daily life. In this context, the boundaries, intentional separations, and strategic overlaps that support healthy, enriching lifestyles are increasingly difficult to preserve. Functional boundaries elevated to dynamic elements that mediate the flow of light, air, and movement, create rhythms of transparency, and choreograph interactions between public and private domains. These architectural gestures serve as invitations to pause, to observe, and to engage with the world and oneself. An elevated common ground, termed the Quilt, provides a new dimension for nature, public gathering, and community collaboration. Elisions in building floor plates transform the commercial type into a sunny and airy communal living with large courtyards and patios. Individual units center around a versatile multi-purpose space that accommodates various lifestyles of residents. The greenscape above the Quilt offers an open serene area for residents to gather, relax, and engage with the neighborhood. Below, the roofed public plaza provides an expansive venue for social events, retail, and other communal gatherings. The transition from an open office plan to a residential configuration is marked by large vegetated courtyards and internal patios that establish shared spaces between the residents. Typical apartment plan is divided into six equal, non-hierarchical rooms with a versatile multi-purpose space in the center. This space can accommodate a range of individual and shared domestic activities by allowing inhabitants to partition and connect spaces as they wish. The rickhouse—5 foot spacing—builds upon a dense and robust framework for barrel storage. The office—10 foot spacing—supports employees with ideal dimensions for individual and shared workspaces. The fermentation room—15 foot spacing—houses large distillation equipment, while the tasting bar—20 foot spacing—creates an open environment for a unique guest experience. https://leejweric.com/07 07 &nbsp;City Shed Jeffry Burchard A recreation center project for DeFilippo Park in Boston, MA, deconstructs the traditional shed typology, fragmenting it into a series of parts that appear whole to respond to the unique geometries and programmatic zones of the existing site. A series of ramps weave through the site, which creates a dynamic interplay of circulation and experience, enhancing the relationship between the building, the park, and the city. The existing site is divided into distinct programmatic zones—a basketball court, a dog park, and a playground—each serving specific community needs yet lacking a unifying element. The shed’s cantilevering roofs extend over these zones, creating sheltered spaces for a range of activities, from community events and markets to informal gatherings and performances. Ramps that connect the the distinct zones provide opportunities for meandering exploration, encouraging the community to engage with the park in new ways. The design challenges preconceived notions of sharing a&nbsp; space, employing subtle shifts in walls to mediate the relationship between individuals and their environment. The walls, defying their boundaries, function not only as physical separators but also as social catalysts, creating opportunities for selective visual and physical interaction. The partitions become dynamic architectural elements, dividing and connecting spaces simultaneously. Their deliberate placement and form compel residents to navigate over, under, around, and across them, encouraging new and sometimes awkward methods of interaction. These encounters transform mundane movements—crossing a threshold, ascending a staircase, or passing through a hallway—into active methods of engagement, fostering an evolving relationship between the inhabitants and the architecture.
